IF: Hide

Mother rabbit quickly realized she needed to switch from 'tan your hide' to 'spank your britches' when trying to get Melville to clean his room...

Awww what an awful fear to have! Better tell him to worry about his feet too. Great pic. Love the twist.

Nice one brian. I am not sure I ever thought about "tan your hide". Kind of a morbid thing for a mom to say.

I dropped my other blog and it was picked up by a spammer. Which links are you missing?

The expression of concern and a moms protective instinct is touching and so funny at the same time, considering what she's protecting him from.
I like Melville's room, a happy little rabbit, and he'll stay that way as long as mother is around.
Wow, Fun to look at and so creative!

Nice one Brian. I like how she stopped herself before she said the wrong thing! What a good mom :)

It's funny how some people take this as Melville having already been told this...and some people take this as Melville's mom catching herself from saying it...I suppose either way works...so long as everyone realizes the rabbit is clutching a stuffed rabbit and it is not Melville being strangled...You guys are the best I say...

Hee hee! Yes, he'll be more effective at cleaning his room when he's not frozen in fear. Wonderful drawing. Your linework is fun and expressive. that turtle is cute cute, and so is the floppy eared blue bunny.

Nice one. As a parent of young children myslef, I can really relate to the sentiments. How often have I said the wrong thing, then realised that it can and will be mis-interpretted.

Hey, spare the... animal-skin-stretcher-thing... spoil the child, I always say. Or not.

Funny illustration! I like the detail of your posts, too! Great lessons here.

Very nice spin on the 'take' here. I was pleased to stop in and see that all your blogs are insightful -- in fact, your instructional one on line is brilliant. We, here, teach Illustrator and will find this as a useful tool. Your renderings are strong and able of expressing vast mood changes. Lovely, lovely stuff!
