This is funny. A long time ago I had a student (U of Illinois, 1st year German) who, after a long string of barely passing grades, finally managed a low B; he tried to talk it up and I just smiled at him and he got the message, smirked and left the class room. Smart boy.
I know this is "drawn" from experience, but as the teacher or the student?
